Buy Hearing Aids for Less
Quinn Buchanan
/ February 2nd, 2018
Hearing aids cost thousands of dollars and often are not covered by Medicare or private insurance. Here are four ways to save on hearing aids:
- Double check your insurance. Some private health insurance companies cover hearing aids. In Arkansas, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, state law requires insurance companies to cover hearing aids for adults.
- Look for savings for veterans. The VA helps cover the cost of hearing aids for veterans whose hearing loss was linked to military service or treatment at a VA hospital. Visit VA.gov to learn more.
- Look into assistance programs. Multiple programs and foundations that will help people of low income pay for hearing aids. Call your state vocational rehabilitation department to find out if there are any near you.
- Research other options. Costco and online vendors offer hearing aids at lower prices than warehouse chains.
